What are the people called who research for a criminal trial
find evidence for the Defense Attorney or Prosector but they never actually go on in person to the trial. They basically do all the work but hand in off to the main guy.

For example, say you are being brought up on felony charges, who would get this notice? You, your lawyer, defense (the District Attorney), and the person who filed the charges? Am I correct in assuming this?
